Carlos Cortez Wins WAC Trophy Monday, July 10th , 2017 Swinging a hot stick last week, Carlos Cortez picked up the Western Amateur Circuit Player of the Week Award today. The 20-year-old shortstop for Arlington lashed 14 hits in 25 at-bats as he put together a .560 average with 3 home runs. Cortez also drove in 9 runs, scored 5 times and compiled a .607 OBP. Looking at his season stats, Cortez has compiled a .332 batting average and a .420 on-base percentage, while hitting 11 home runs and driving in 38 runs. |
