Simpson Says Goodbye to Baseball Wednesday, July 5th , 2017 San Diego Aztecs officials flanked Chris Simpson as he announced his retirement from pro baseball today. Rumors have had him on the verge of retirement since late last week but were not confirmed until today. "I want to leave the game the way I came into it," said Simpson. "I don't want to become an embarrassment to myself and the team." During his career, Simpson has chalked up 218 hits and a .222 average with 12 home runs and 83 RBIs. |
