Smit Headed for Retirement Wednesday, June 14th , 2017 Edwin Smit announced his retirement today according to sources inside the Manchester Monarchs organization. Smit, who is 39 years old, gave reporters some of his plans for the near future. "I'm going to do a lot of hunting and fishing," he said. "I've always been focused on getting ready for the next season, so maybe now I can slow down and enjoy time away from it all." Smit went back and forth with the press in a friendly manner during his press conference. "I'm sure there's a small-mouth bass out there with my name on it," he said. |
