It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Bobby Perez -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Atlantics Ballpark and paced the 11-2 Atlantics win over the Oil City Oilers.

After his dynamite batting performance, the Brooklyn shortstop told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."

His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Bobby Perez hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Jared Smith in the 8th.

This year, Perez is hitting .257 with 9 home runs.
