5-for-5 Day for Smith Thursday, August 18th , 2016 Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the St. Louis (R)'s 8-0 win over Denver (R), catcher Jamal Smith was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at PBC Rookie Development Complex. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Smith said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." Jamal Smith hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
