Lopez Week's Best Player Monday, August 8th , 2016 Miami (R) fans have something to crow about today as Miami (R) catcher Alex Lopez nabbed the PBC Rookie Complex League Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Lopez. He posted a .524 average (11-for-21) this past week with 3 home runs, 9 RBIs, and 7 runs scored. For the season, Lopez has produced 51 hits in 161 at-bats for a .317 average with 8 home runs and gotten on base at a .412 clip. |
