Boston's Dennis Ziemer Calling it Quits Monday, September 5th , 2016 Dennis Ziemer said it's time for him to concentrate on "being a father and a husband" after this baseball season. At age 39, the native of Lackawanna, New York has announced he will retire from professional baseball. "I want to thank all my teammates, the fans, and the Boston Battalion organization, but this is it for me," he said. "I've got a lovely family at home I can't wait to spend more time with." Ziemer has played in 761 games and is hitting .273 lifetime with 393 RBIs, 732 hits, 136 doubles, 4 triples, and 114 home runs. He has scored 356 times and stolen 32 bases. |
