Gnomes Kelley Gone for Year Saturday, August 27th , 2016 Yuma closer Chris Kelley could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He exited yesterday's Houston game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Kelley would be out 12 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that." In 6 relief appearances this year, Kelley has thrown 8.2 innings, struck out 14 and collected 2 saves. His won-lost record is 0-1 with a 4.15 ERA. |
