Roberts Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Buccaneers Monday, July 4th , 2016 Pat Roberts was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 11-3 El Paso Mavericks triumph at The Sun Bowl. The 24-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Mavericks past the New Orleans Buccaneers. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Roberts told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The second baseman went 3-for-3, rung up 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day. Pat Roberts hit a solo-shot off Danny Gonzalez in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Danny Gonzalez in the 5th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Elliott Byrne in the 7th. So far this season, Roberts has put up a .259 batting average with 7 hits, 4 home runs and 6 RBIs. |
