EAC Most Valuable Player Award Goes To Mills
Monday, September 26th , 2016
At the age of 25, Matt Mills of the Providence Grays could very well have his best years ahead of him.

It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2016 was good enough to win the first baseman the Eastern Amateur Circuit Most Valuable Player Award.

"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."

The top hitter put up a .322 batting average this year, as well as a .433 on-base percentage. He played 141 games and racked up 164 hits, 38 doubles, 3 triples, 20 home runs, 88 RBIs and 96 runs scored.

He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 20. Natraj Kankipati of the Manchester Monarchs finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Ryan Zuchowski of the Oil City Oilers finished third.
