Thompson Named Top Reliever for PBC

The Reliever of the Year Award goes to the Professional Baseball Circuit reliever who put forward the strongest season.

This season, that player was Chris Thompson of the Las Vegas Aces, who was above all his peers in 2016.

"I just feel like the ball was doing what I wanted it to this year and I was in command most nights out there," he said. "Some days you don't have your best stuff, but I didn't have too many of those days this year."

On the season, Thompson pitched 40.1 innings, with 43 strikeouts and an ERA of 0.89. He also had 23 saves in 29 relief appearances.

He received 10 first place votes out of a possible 18. Won-keun Baek of the El Paso Diablos finished second in voting with 8 first place votes, while Billy Piatt of the Toronto Titans finished third.
