Manning Holds Houston Scoreless Saturday, October 15th , 2016 The Houston Mavericks were almost helpless in their 7-0 loss to the El Paso Diablos and hurler Nick Manning. Manning kept the Mavericks confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Manning," Houston manager Kevin Read said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 26-year-old right-hander had 3 walks and 5 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Manning said.
