Houston Headed to the Postseason Thursday, September 29th , 2016 For the Houston Mavericks, it's not how you start, but how you finish. That's the mantra the team is following after today qualifying for the playoffs. "We may be going into the playoffs as a wild card team, but we plan to finish the playoffs as champions," said starting pitcher Luke Whalen. "There's no shortage of confidence from guys in our clubhouse." With a record of 47-39, there will of course be teams with better track records in the postseason. But team manager Kevin Read said his club has "infinite optimism" that they can win the franchise's 4th Professional Baseball Circuit championship. |
