Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Philadelphia Keystones and Boston Shamrocks.
In a low-scoring affair between the Philadelphia Keystones and the Boston Shamrocks, pitcher Brandon Beech was the difference between victory and defeat. The Philadelphia right-hander earned kudos in the 3-2 Keystones win. The winner was Beech. He threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Abebaw Kiara. Kadidu Akinshegun earned his 15th save in 23 chances.
Bill Garcia, who finished 3rd in the PBC in wins above replacement with 4.5 in 2007, had a direct impact on the outcome. Garcia contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Philadelphia up, 1-0.
"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Beech.
The second-place Shamrocks have lost 4 straight games.
