Brandon Mallory left his imprint on the 10-4 Los Angeles win against the Houston Mavericks. Mallory, the 12th overall pick in the 2006 draft, was 4 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 6. Jorge Ramos, who is tied for 5th in the PBC in complete games with 4, was the winner. He's now 3-8. The loser was Jon Lund. By defeating Houston, the last-place Knights improved to 29-41.

With Los Angeles leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Mallory hit a fastball from Jon Lund for a run-scoring double. It was his 15th double of the season and put the Knights ahead, 2-0.

"Brandon was ready to go. Big day for him," said Los Angeles manager Steve Finley.
