Getting a good performance from second baseman Willie Rodriguez, the El Paso Diablos defeated the Atlanta Pilots, 8-7. Rodriguez went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 3 runs for the Diablos. Ryan Matlock, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The win puts El Paso at 4-1.

In the bottom of the sixth, El Paso center fielder Ryan Burton gave his team the lead. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Wheels hit his 1st triple of the year. Atlanta pitcher Josh O'Neill surrendered it. With that, the Diablos jumped in front, 6-5.
