Led by Zach Winchester, the Miami Sun Sox defeated the Toronto Titans, 7-5. Winchester, a native of South Gate, California, went 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Sun Sox. Billy Daily snagged the win in relief. He goes to 4-3 on the season. Ben Craig suffered the loss. Josh Hensley closed it out for his 7th save.
It could have been a different outcome for Miami, had it not been for Keith Hardeman, the former first round draft pick . Hardeman contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Miami up, 6-5.
"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Miami manager Barry Lolicht.
Toronto has now lost 5 straight.
