It took 10 innings, but the Denver Cutthroats were able to beat the Detroit Motors, 6-4, at The Motor Yard. Kengo Miyake provided some offensive muscle for Denver. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Jonathan Benders claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 3-5. With the win, the Cutthroats hiked their record to 25-24.
Miyake had a game-changing double in the top of the tenth. On a 1-0 fastball from Jaiden LeFlore, he banged a run-scoring double to left-center, giving the Cutthroats a 4-3 lead. It was the 14th double of the year for Miyake.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Miyake, "and then get after it again."
