Motors Lose By a Run at Philadelphia
|
In a low-scoring affair between Philadelphia Keystones and the Detroit Motors, pitcher Alex Hard was the difference-maker. The Philadelphia right-hander handcuffed the opposition, to help his team pocket a 2-1 win. Hard, the winner, moves to 2-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Kadidu Akinshegun notched his 11th save in 18 chances.
In the bottom of the third, Alan Calloway delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Philadelphia second baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Keystones in front, 2-1.
Keystones manager Corey Anderson raved about Hard after the game. "I thought Alex was 'lights out.'"
The Keystones, at 25-35, inhabit 7th place in the PBC East Division.
