Shamrocks Beaten By Union, 4-1
|
The Boston Shamrocks and Chicago Union delighted fans at Trident Field.
Chicago Union starter Justin Thill pitched a strong game against the Boston Shamrocks at Trident Field, leading the Union to victory, 4-1. Fidel Santiago nailed down his 7th save.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Eric Longson was at the plate when Chicago scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Union to go in front, 2-1.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Longson said after the game.
Chicago is now 20-27. Boston is 19-28.
