Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Dallas Texans were eager to watch Gart Jansen square off against Tim Keller of the visiting Las Vegas Aces. In the end, the Aces won the game, 7-4, with Jeff Beyer leading the way. Tim Keller got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 7 innings, giving up 4 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. Chris Thompson finished the game for Las Vegas and earned his 1st save.

Las Vegas took a 7-2 lead on Beyer's 1st double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which he hit off Gart Jansen in the top of the sixth, propelled Las Vegas to the win.

"Jeff leaves the last at-bat behind him, whether it was good or bad, and goes up there and competes on every pitch," said Las Vegas manager Casey Lyman.
