The Los Angeles Knights withstood a fine game by Houston left fielder Alan Tompkins at Camelot, to upend the Mavericks, 8-7. Tompkins was 2-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Los Angeles is now 9-10, while Houston is 7-12.

The Knights beat the Mavericks in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Satya Ernalia produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Martim Florncio, Ernalia gave his team the lead, 8-7, when he hit a run-scoring single.

Ernalia told reporters after the game: "This one was touch and go, but we were able to put it in the win column."
