Union Win Pitchers' Duel, 2-1, Versus Texans
|
David Stewart pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Dallas Texans, despite Stewart's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Chicago Union at Everything's Bigger in Texas Ballpark. Fidel Santiago picked up the save for Chicago, his 2nd of the year. The Texans, now 4-11, continue their inauspicious start.
Tyler Patton, who is rated as the 34th best prospect by BNN, had a direct impact on the outcome. Patton contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put Chicago up, 2-0.
