Chagoya Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Peanuts Wednesday, September 30th , 2015 Houston (R) Mavericks right fielder Juan Chagoya sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the San Francisco (R) Peanuts, Chagoya told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Chagoya pushed the Mavericks past the Peanuts, 8-4. To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Chagoya told reporters after the game. Juan Chagoya grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Bill Gamelin in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Mica Klinger in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Yurik Ahmadulin in the 8th. Chagoya is hitting .332 so far this season with 51 RBIs and 73 runs scored. He has 136 hits including 16 home runs, 40 walks and .399 OBP. |
