Nagi Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Detroit (R) Thursday, September 24th , 2015 It was the best of both worlds for the Detroit (R) Motors at PBC Rookie Development Complex, as they defeated the Philadelphia (R) Keystones, 5-3, and also snapped Jaivata Nagi's 38-game hitting streak. The 18-year-old Philadelphia (R) third baseman failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Nagi, we just wanted to win the game," said Motors skipper Blaise Remer. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Nagi frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." This season, Nagi is hitting .348 with 119 hits, 17 home runs, 69 RBIs, scored 67 runs and played in 83 games. |
