Season-Ending Injury for Alex Vigil
Monday, September 14th , 2015
Alex Vigil of the Motors just might have to call it quits for the season. The 17-year-old Detroit (R) starting pitcher received a possible season-ending injury against the Tampa Bay (R) Thunder recently at PBC Rookie Development Complex. Vigil suffered a ruptured disc while throwing a pitch. The Motors medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 8 months.

This season, Vigil has a 5-5 mark in 15 starts with a 4.84 ERA. He has given up 94 hits in 83.2 innings, struck out 98 and issued 39 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .283 batting average against him.
