Garcia Cracks 3 HR for Thunder Wednesday, August 12th , 2015 Mike Garcia brutalized the Los Angeles (R) Knights pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 14-6 Tampa Bay (R) victory at PBC Rookie Development Complex. The Tampa Bay (R) Thunder left fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs and 5 runs scored. "Too much Mike Garcia today," Knights manager Bob Barnett said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Mike Garcia flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Mario Martinez in the 3rd, was hit by a pitch in the 4th, walked in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Kazuomi Matsuda in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Ian Hoiting in the 8th. At present, Garcia is batting .364 with 28 hits and 6 home runs. He has knocked in 17 runs and scored 25 times. |
