Pilots Smith Gone for Year Tuesday, July 28th , 2015 Chris Smith of the Atlanta (R) Pilots was injured in today's game against Boston (R) and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament, and he is expected to be out for up to 11 months. It happened while Smith was throwing a pitch. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field." To date this season, Smith has compiled a 2-0 record with a 2.27 ERA in 7 starts. |
