Stephenson Crashes 3 HR Against Tampa Bay (R) Saturday, July 18th , 2015 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Tampa Bay (R) Thunder. St. Louis (R) shortstop Brian Stephenson tripled up on the home runs to propel the Lions to a win, 14-5, at PBC Rookie Development Complex. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Tampa Bay (R) manager Brandon Land said. "Stephenson hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Stephenson collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 8 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Brian Stephenson struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Sergio Oceguera in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Sergio Oceguera in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Manik Visweswaramurthy in the 5th and struck out in the 6th. Stephenson is swinging at a .264 pace on the year with 14 home runs, 41 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has played in 30 games. |
