Burger Says Goodbye to Baseball Tuesday, October 6th , 2015 Tim Burger said he will miss "leading the boys into battle" after this season. At 36 years old, the team leader of the El Paso Mavericks has announced he will retire at season's end. "I've always tried to be a guy that leads by example and I'd like to think I've been a good leader in my career," he said. "There's a lot of things I'm going to miss about the sport, but I think most of all is the camaraderie with the guys." Burger has put up these career stats: 30 wins, 41 losses, 103 appearances, 1 save, 547 IP, 519 strikeouts, .235 OBA and a 3.77 ERA. |
