Fletcher Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Boston Wednesday, September 9th , 2015 Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 20-game hitting streak, Manchester third baseman Danny Fletcher went hitless in 3 at-bats at Boston Field. The sudden hitting drought came as the Monarchs snagged the 6-5 win over the Boston Battalion. "Nope, it's not magic," Fletcher said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits." Fletcher is currently batting .318 with 6 home runs and 41 RBIs. |
