Hours after speaking to the press about his 23-game hitting streak, Yuma first baseman Ron Garcia went hitless in 2 at-bats at Yuma Grounds. The sudden hitting drought came as the Gnomes snagged the 4-2 win over the Tulsa Twisters. "Nope, it's not magic," Garcia said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits." Batting .358 to date, Garcia has 6 home runs and 41 RBIs. |
