Clermont Powers 3 HR Against Detroit (R) Thursday, October 17th , 2013 Fans are still buzzing after Atlanta (R) whipped the Detroit (R) Motors by the score of 10-4 at PBC Rookie Development Complex. Jon Clermont smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the third baseman bashed out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, had 5 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Clermont said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Clermont said. "Three is just... wow." Jon Clermont hit a two-run home run off John Gonzalez in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off John Gonzalez in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Justin Flanigan in the 7th. Clermont is hitting .235 for the season with 12 home runs, 48 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has 64 hits in 272 at-bats and played in 85 games. |
