Going, Going, Gone! Evans Hits 3 Homers Sunday, September 29th , 2013 It was a good day for the Philadelphia (R) Keystones and an exceptional one for Kevin Evans. The 19-year-old catcher sent three bombs out of the park to help the Keystones beat the Toronto (R) Titans, 9-5, at PBC Rookie Development Complex. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Evans said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 4 runs and smacked 3 hits in 5 at-bats. Kevin Evans hit a solo-shot off Ntagahera Negrouz in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Ntagahera Negrouz in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Rodion Godovikov in the 8th. So far this season, Evans has put up a .186 batting average with 54 hits, 9 home runs and 35 RBIs. |
