Delaney Hits 3 Homers Against Los Angeles (R) Tuesday, September 9th , 2014 Houston (R) Mavericks center fielder George Delaney had a magnificent game against the Los Angeles (R) Knights, rocketing three balls out of PBC Rookie Development Complex to help the Mavericks win, 9-3. "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes." For the game, Delaney went 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Houston (R) manager Joe Bryant said later. "Seems like George found his home run stroke today." George Delaney struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Arthur Phipps in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Koichi Miyamoto in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Koichi Miyamoto in the 9th. This year, Delaney has hit at a .253 clip with 37 hits, 10 home runs, 27 RBIs and 23 runs scored. |
