Hitting Streak Still Alive for Gorbatsevich Friday, August 29th , 2014 The number just keeps getting higher. Washington (R) center fielder Vassi Gorbatsevich has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 1 hit in 4 at-bats as the Washington (R) won the game, 3-0, over the Denver (R) Cutthroats at PBC Rookie Development Complex. "Who knows how long it will go on?" Denver (R) manager Edwin Jimenes said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Vassi Gorbatsevich struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and flied out in the 8th. Currently Gorbatsevich is hitting .291 and has collected 4 home runs, 18 RBIs and scored 33 times, while playing in 64 games. |
