Lurte Named Top Reliever for ABC Wednesday, October 22nd , 2014 When Josh Lurte jogged in from the bullpen this season, opposing teams knew they were going to have a tough time putting up runs. The Albuquerque Coyotes reliever turned in a dominant campaign and has been named the Amateur Baseball Circuit Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2014. His award-winning season saw the bullpen ace get 6 saves in 30 relief appearances, 40 strikeouts in 40 innings and only 19 walks. He had a record of 6 wins and 1 loss to go with his 2.25 ERA. "I hope I can pitch like this every year," he said. He received 18 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Keith Shull of the Tulsa Twisters finished second in voting, while Kevin Cappola of the Boston Battalion finished third.
