3 Boomers for Garcia Tuesday, September 2nd , 2014 Erick Garcia went on an explosive hitting spree against the Tulsa Twisters at Tulsa Park, launching a trio of blasts to help the Boston Battalion win, 8-3. The right fielder finished 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 6 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Garcia said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Tulsa skipper Tony Boss said Garcia was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Erick Garcia grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Nick Wilder in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off David Martinez in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Alan Gainey in the 9th. Thus far this season, Garcia has hit .273 with 5 home runs, 20 RBIs and scored 13 times. |
