Hit Streak Now at 20 for Rivera Saturday, August 9th , 2014 Mario Rivera ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games at Yuma Grounds, when he collected 2 hits in 5 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Yuma Gnomes dropped the game, 8-4, to the Arlington Stars. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Rivera said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Mario Rivera singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. This season, Rivera is batting .387 with 74 hits and 9 home runs. He has scored 40 times and has 27 runs batted in. |
