3-HR Binge for Eder Against St. Petersburg Sunday, July 13th , 2014 Fans are still buzzing after Houston whipped the St. Petersburg Pelicans by the score of 10-3 at Ballpark of St. Petersburg. Hannes Eder smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the catcher bashed out 3 hits in 5 at-bats, had 8 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Eder said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Eder said. "Three is just... wow." Hannes Eder hit a two-run home run off Jalen Muhammad in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jalen Muhammad in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Bobby Tineo in the 9th. In his season totals, Eder has 6 home runs, .320 BA, .422 OBP, 23 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has played in 20 games. |
