White Hits in 20 Straight Games Monday, June 30th , 2014 Win or lose, Mickey White just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 3 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. The Oil City Oilers right fielder went 3-for-5, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 15-10, by the New Orleans Buccaneers at Bucco Ballpark. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Mickey White hit a two-run home run off Akke Nienhuis in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. Looking at his present stats, White has compiled a .455 batting average in 15 games with a .493 on-base percentage, while hitting 8 home runs and driving in 27 runs. |
