Marsh and Shipman Dealt Thursday, November 27th , 2014 It came down to the last hour of a self-imposed trade deadline, but the Vacaville Steelheads and Calgary Caracals finally came to an agreement on a trade that had been rumored for weeks. The trade sends Vacaville's 29-year old LF Jared Marsh and $4,500 in cash to Calgary in a swap for 28-year old RHP Chris Shipman and 20-year old minor league RHP Brian Fistler. Both GMs seemed relieved that the deal had been completed with one stating, "We had to set a deadline to get it done." The players are expected to report to their new teams by tomorrow. Vacaville will retain a portion of Marsh's remaining contract. In his 132-game career, Marsh has hit at a .271 clip and collected 146 hits with 31 doubles, 4 triples, 15 homers, and 70 RBIs. Shipman has fashioned a 24-21 won-lost record in his career with a 3.57 ERA. |
