Vacaville, Ottawa Trade Made Thursday, November 27th , 2014 Acknowledging that it may not be the biggest splash, the Steelheads announced today that they have acquired 32-year old 1B Matt Fields and 21-year old minor league 1B Dylan Alexander from the Ottawa Capitals in exchange for 33-year old LF Ryan Walker and $2,520 in cash. "Every little bit helps," announced the Steelheads, "this deal should improve both squads." Vacaville will retain a portion of Walker's remaining contract. In his career, Walker has racked up 224 hits with a .238 average and .336 on-base percentage. His numbers include 52 doubles, 2 triples, and 39 home runs, along with 132 runs scored and 145 RBIs. |
