SPBC Hands Out Rookie of the Year Award Thursday, October 30th , 2014 Vancouver relief specialist Miguel Vazquez made quite a stir in the Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit this year. He outperformed all freshmen players and today he received the 2014 Rookie of the Year Award. He tossed 69 innings in 39 relief appearances, notching 20 saves, a 7-3 record, 87 strikeouts and a 0.78 ERA. He received 12 first place votes out of a possible 18. Josh Goddard of the Albany Senators finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Isaiah Crosby of the Calgary Caracals finished third.
