Canadians Move on to SPBC Classic Series Friday, October 10th , 2014 The joy and relief on the faces of the Sherbrooke Canadians players was obvious as they celebrated their Division Championship Series win over the Southern California Empires. "In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Sherbrooke right fielder Morgan Hawkey, shortly after the 6-5 win that clinched the series 4-3. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done." The team is now off to the SPBC Classic Series. Hawkey won series MVP honors on the strength of his .321 batting average during the series. He also had a .406 on-base percentage and 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Sherbrooke Canadians will play against the Vacaville Steelheads in the next round. Vacaville won their series against the Mexico City Aztecas 4 games to 3. The SPBC Classic Series schedule will be announced after the Division Championship Series finishes. View Boxscore |
