Steelheads Prevail, as Division Championship Series Goes to the Wire Friday, October 10th , 2014 There certainly wasn't much separating the Vacaville Steelheads and Mexico City Aztecas in this year's Division Championship Series. In the end, it was the Steelheads advancing to the SPBC Classic Series with a 1-0 win at Ballpark of Vacaville, to cap off a thrilling 4-3 series win. Steelheads right-hander and series MVP Tony Vadi took a short break from the clubhouse victory celebration to tell BNN reporters that "winning a series in the last game makes it all the more sweet." For the series, Vadi's performance no doubt made things even sweeter. He had a 0.35 ERA over 25.2 innings pitched, with a 2-1 record. The Vacaville Steelheads don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Southern California Empires - Sherbrooke Canadians series.
