Grove Is SPBC Batting Champ Wednesday, October 1st , 2014 One of the more prestigious postseason awards is presented to the league batting champion. The Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit recipient this year is Allentown's 35-year-old first baseman Wayne Grove, who hit .317 over 83 games. Included in this accomplishment were 108 hits in 341 at-bats, 13 home runs, 50 runs batted in and 45 runs scored. Grove spoke humbly to reporters about the award. "It's such a difficult thing to do," he explained, "There are a lot of great hitters in this league and to outhit them all is very special." |
