Eric Scarlett Hurt, Will Miss Rest of Year
Monday, September 15th , 2014
Eric Scarlett of the Capitals just might have to call it quits for the season. The 31-year-old Ottawa reliever received a possible season-ending injury against the Hamilton Tigers recently at Capitals Stadium. Scarlett suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch. The Capitals medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 7-8 months.
For the season, Scarlett has no saves, tossed 37 innings, fanned 33 batters and produced an ERA of 4.14. He has also been credited with 1 win and no losses.
