Ronnie Jacobs Out for Season Saturday, September 13th , 2014 Detroit reliever Ronnie Jacobs could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn meniscus. He exited yesterday's Las Vegas game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Jacobs would be out 6-7 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that." Jacobs has taken the mound for 26 relief appearances this season, nailing down 1 save while notching a 0-6 record with a 6.81 ERA. The Detroit reliever has limited opposing batters to a .283 batting average. |
