Season May Be Over for Caracals Pierce Saturday, August 23rd , 2014 Calgary right fielder Brent Pierce could miss the remainder of the season because of a broken bone in the elbow. He exited yesterday's Southern California game after injuring himself while being hit by a pitch. The original diagnosis said Pierce would be out 4 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that." This year, Pierce is hitting .228, produced 23 RBIs and 9 home runs, scored 29 times and gotten on base at a .348 rate. |
